Dear Friend of the Twin Beach Players:

Twin Beach Players is a vital and exciting part of the arts community in Calvert County.  Over the past 10 years we have presented 40 different productions involving 10,000 Calvert County residents as audiences, sponsors, advertisers, in-kind supports, actors, technicians and production staff.  We are in our third year of the successful Kids’ Playwriting Festival.  This year the Festival productions will be held on August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2008, at the Northeast Community Center located in Chesapeake Beach next to the Water Park.  We look forward to producing the remaining productions for our 2008 – 2009 Season with:

-         Clare O’Shea’s “Passionate Broadway”

-         Dale Wasserman’s stage adaptation of Ken Kesey’s “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest”

We also launched the Twin Beach Players Youth Troupe with year-round activities for youths in the 1st through 12th grades.

We are about to announce an exciting 2008 – 2009 Season with great productions and workshops for all ages!!

We earn almost half of our budget through contributions from people like you who help foster growth for new and experienced talent of all ages and develop a sense of community through theater experiences.

Our sponsorship program helps us maintain our mission to promote the performing arts in the community through live theatrical and educational experiences.  We do this while promising to keep our ticket prices affordable, currently $15.

Your sponsorship dollars accomplish many things:

·        Royalties ($50 - $1,500 per production)

·        Costume expenses and rental ($100 - $1,000 per production)

·        Set lumber and materials ($200 - $1,000 per production)

·        Lighting ($4,000+)

·        Sound ($1,000+)

·        Printing costs ($1,000+ per production)

·        Advertising costs ($1,000+ per production)

·        Kids’ Playwriting Festival ($8,900+ in annual costs)

·        Administrative costs ($4,000+ in annual costs)

·        Hall rental ($1,000 - $3,000 per production)

Our average annual costs for Twin Beach Players are conservatively $25,000 (not adjusting for inflation).

Our Youth Troupe and Kids’ Playwriting Festival together have an estimated budget of $20,000 and include performances and educational opportunities as well as experience in technical theater, writing, and directing.

This year we find ourselves without a home after several years in generously donated space.  Our anticipated rental costs for performances will likely increase by $5,000 or more.  More than ever, your tax deductible contribution* (minus the value of tickets) to Twin Beach Players will keep live theater affordable and available in Calvert County.  One of our members will contact you within the next two weeks to discuss sponsorship opportunities.  We look forward to setting up a partnership with you that benefits the entire Calvert County community.
